Description

Mouth breathing is one of the most common orofacial myofunctional disorders, regardless of the age group considered.
But is breathing through your mouth as alarming as people want us to believe? Is an infant really necessarily a nasal breather? Does “mixed” breathing really exist? When do we call someone a “mouth breather”? What are our means of diagnosis in speech therapy/speech therapy to objectivize it? What are our healthcare objectives and how can we achieve them? What tools can help us?

Form an informed and nuanced opinion and approach your therapeutic plans from a new perspective thanks to our numerous scientific resources anchored in clinical reality. Also discover the results of our original research carried out at the University of Liège.

Terms

• Training in the form of videos available 24 hours a day from 07/1/24 for a period of 70 days at the end of which a live question/answer session takes place
• Q&A session by zoom (date to be agreed)
• 10 hours of content sequenced into short videos
• On the Thinkific platform
• Registrations limited to 20 people
• One-off payment of €194 (currently not FIFPL eligible)

Content

The videos are organized into 6 chapters:

• Physiology of breathing : learn details about nasal breathing you never knew existed
• Nasal dysfunction : go a step further in understanding the etiology of nasal obstruction and discover, among other things, everything there is to know about allergies and hypertrophic tonsils, but also the new hypotheses concerning non-inflammatory rhinitis allergic
• Mouth breathing : learn about the latest terminologies, categorization of breathing patterns and much more
• Health impact : understand the links with sleep, oral health, cognitive health, microbiota, bruxism, etc.
• Diagnosis: learn how to conduct a concise and relevant anamnesis then discover the ABPA, a completely free diagnostic grid which has been psychometrically validated and published in an international journal
• Nasal rehabilitation: find out in detail about nasal irrigation, review all the steps to re-educate nose blowing, learn new techniques for rediscovering the nasal area and discover which tools to use to automate nasal breathing
